“With regards to the Treasury, the Utah State Constitution is in crisis. I am running for this office because it’s time to restore the State Treasurer’s position to that envisioned by Utah’s constitutional convention.” Stout says.

“As a constitutional officer, the State Treasurer is accountable to the taxpayers for the safekeeping of funds and not beholden to any other executive office, or any other outside influences. The drafters of our state constitution understood this, and it’s time to make the office truly live up to constitutional expectations. ”
